Primera Design Center

Client: Primera
Location: Tempe, AZ

Our challenge was to design a centralized Design Studio servicing multiple builders that will streamline the colorizing process, and provide semi-private areas for future virtual technology.

Inspired by retail merchandising; crisp whites, grey tones and open spaces provide a bright, neutral background to highlight the large selection of materials available. The ceiling is open with drop soffits that organize the space into zones to allow buyers to focus on one area of the house at a time. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and home office vignettes demonstrate how different styles can be achieved by blending a variety of flooring, cabinets countertops and plumbing fixtures.

Individual meeting cubes with glass walls and oversized monitors create an uncluttered and quiet space for buyers to pull together and visualize their future homes. Popular and trending materials are highlighted in gallery-style wall units with many additional options easily accessible behind sliding doors so the number of options is not overwhelming. Niches are carved out of walls to hold oversized samples of materials such as granite and tile inlays so large scale patterns can be seen. Daylight toned LED lighting highlights both materials and the overall space to accurately depict the colors and textures of materials.
